Algebra Nation November 2017
Congratulations to some of our 8th grade students for their participation in Algebra Nation! Algebra Nation is a national platform that NYC’s Algebra for All provided for all NYC teachers. Students can contribute to this platform by offering support and feedback to their NYC peers. Students earn Karma points by helping other students. For the month of October, 8th grade student Kian Montazery received the highest number of Karma points in NYC, which earned him a brand new Ipad! Shazil Atif, Kaitlyn Chung, and Samuel Chu received enough Karma points to warrant a t-shirt and some other prizes. Congrats to class 804 for earning the highest class points in the city!

Unity Ceremony September 11
The BELL Academy and P.S. 169 school communities proudly stand together and unite in honor of September 11th. To commemorate the day, students recited original poems and sang songs. Principal Abbott reminded us that we are, “stronger when we work together to battle bullying and we should always consider ways of supporting each other with acts of kindness.” Councilmember Vallone, Superintendent DiMango, CEC Member Mr. Di Benedetto, and D25 UFT Representative Joe Kessler, were all on hand to help send a positive message of hope and unity. A special thanks to Mr. Neggie, Ms. Milazzo, and Musical Director Mr. Baum for their contributions.
