BELL Academy Cell Phone Policy
Chancellor’s Regulation A-413 has been updated to allow students to bring the following electronic items to school:
- cell phones
- laptops, tablets, iPads and other similar computing devices; and
- portable music and entertainment systems (such as iPods, MP3 players, PSP and Nintendo DS).
Please note that it is your child’s responsibility to ensure that any electronic devices brought into school do not disrupt learning. Therefore, all electronic devices must be turned off prior to entering the school. If a cell phone or other electronic device is used, or seen, in school, it will be confiscated. In consultation with the BELL Academy School Leadership Team, BELL Academy will continue to implement the following policy:
First Infraction: The cell phone, or electronic device, will be confiscated and returned to a Parent/Guardian the following morning.
Two or More Infractions: The cellphone, or electronic device, will be confiscated and returned to a Parent/Guardian after 10 school days.
Please remember that digital responsibility is strongly encouraged at BELL Academy. Any infraction, including cyberbullying and/or inappropriate messaging or internet usage, will be promptly addressed in accordance with the Chancellor’s Regulations and Discipline Code.
BELL Academy cannot be responsible for lost or stolen devices.
We thank you for your ongoing cooperation.
Sincerely,
David Abbott
Principal
