Commonpoint Queens offers a free after-school program for BELL Academy students. The program provides academic support and enrichment, time to socialize, recreation activities, and exposure to the arts, technology, and more. The program has a limited number of seats. Please see below for detailed information on how to apply!

- Submitting an application does not guarantee enrollment.

- Enrollment is limited and at this time, we cannot guarantee that all students who submit applications will be enrolled.Program is for 6th to 8th grade students (As of September 2023). We do not accept Kindergarten - 5th grade students.
ANSWERS TO ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS
Enrollment & Lottery
As of right now there is NO Lottery. Once all applications are in by the due date. We will see if a lottery is needed.
Our minimum program enrollment is 80 participants but we are planning to over-enroll to our maximum of 97 to ensure that we enroll as many applicants as we possibly can.
Program Start Date
After school will begin on Monday, September 16th. There will be no after care, during the first week of school (September 9th-13th).
Program Hours
Program will begin at Bell Academy school dismissal and run until 5:15PM. There will be no extended care or late pick-up. Please ensure that you are communicating with us if you are going to be running late to pick-up your child/children.
*IMPORTANT* Participant Required Attendance
Please review the required attendance policy for after school below. If you do not believe that your child can fulfill this requirement, please reach out to us. We will be strictly enforcing our attendance requirements this year.
- Participants are required to attend 80% of the week (4 out of 5 days).
- Participants are required to attend the program for majority of the afternoon. This means that they are not being picked up prior to 4:45pm.
- We are an afterschool enrichment program that is required to run activities throughout the day. Early pick-ups make it very hard to get through these activities.
- If participants are not able to attend the program for the required amount of time, you will be given a warning given that your child's spot in the program is at risk.
- If there are no changes to attendance, the participant's spot will be revoked and the participant will no longer be permitted to attend the program.
- Spots will be given to the next participant on the waitlist for that grade.
Dismissal *Important*
- If you have attended our SONYC After school program in the past, you are familiar with us being in the front lobby for dismissal.
- This year, we will not be in the front lobby for dismissal until 4:45pm.
- If your child has an appointment, please let us know in advance that they will need to be picked up early that day.
Paperwork
In addition to the application submitted on Discover DYCD, each participant is required to submit a medical form and a contact form. If your child is enrolled in the program, you will receive a separate email with more details regarding these forms. Both documents are required for all participants to attend. Please do not send us any medical forms until you are notified that your child is enrolled in the program.
