Instructional Focus
Students will engage in high-quality interactive discussions based upon deeper insightful analysis of relevant and concise text-based details and exemplified by responses to peers’ questioning and extensions of peers’ thoughts, thereby improving standards-based performance in evidence-based student writing and oral responses in all content areas.
COMPREHENSIVE EDUCATION PLAN (CEP) GOALS
Priority 1: All students learn to read well
- By June, 2025, literacy for All Students will improve, as measured by an 18% increase, from 32% to 50%, of the percentage of students reading one or more grade levels below their current grade meeting their stretch growth goals on the i-Ready Growth Diagnostic.
- By June, 2025, literacy for Hispanic Students will improve, as measured by a 20% increase, from 25% to 45%, of the percentage of students reading one or more grade levels below their current grade meeting their stretch growth goals on the i-Ready Reading Diagnostic.
- By June, 2025, literacy for Students with Disabilities (SWD) will improve, as measured by a 20% increase, from 23% to 43%, of the percentage of students reading one or more grade levels below their current grade meeting their stretch growth goals on the i-Ready Growth Diagnostic.
Priority 2: All students are physically and emotionally safe
- By June, 2025, physical and mental wellness for All Students will improve, as measured by a 15% increase, in the percentage of students reporting their teachers support them when they're upset. from 57% to 72%, per the NYC School Survey results.
- By June, 2025, physical and mental wellness for Hispanic Students will improve, as measured by a 10% increase, in the percentage of students reporting their teachers support them when they're upset from 64% to 74%, per the NYC School Survey results.
- By June, 2025, physical and mental wellness for English Language Learners (ELL) will improve, as measured by a 10% increase, in increased percentage of students responding favorably to the statement "Most students treat students from different backgrounds or cultures equally" from 75% to 85%, per the NYC School Survey results.
Priority 3: All students have a high-quality academic experience
- By June, 2025, the percentage of students meeting their Reading i-Ready stretch growth goals will increase by 13% from 32% to 45%, for All Students, as measured by i-Ready Reading Results.
- By June, 2025, the percentage of students meeting their Math i-Ready stretch growth goals will increase by 13% from 22% to 35%, for Hispanic Students, as measured by i-Ready Math results.
- By June, 2025, the percentage of students meeting their Math i-Ready stretch growth goals will increase by 14% from 21% to 35%, for Students with Disabilities (SWD), as measured by i-Ready Math results.
Priority 4: All students graduate college and career ready and have a strong plan and pathway to economic security
- By June, 2025, the average score of all students earning High School credit by US History Regents exam for All Students will increase by 10% from 75% to 85% as measured by Regents Exam scores..
- By June, 2025, the average percentage score on the US History Regents for Hispanic Students will increase by 10% from 71% to 81% as measured by the US History Regents exam.
- By June, 2025, the average percentage of students' scores for Students with Disabilities (SWD) will increase by 10% from 62% to 72% as measured by Algebra I Regents.
Priority 5: All districts and schools are more inclusive and responsive for parents and families, including having more families choose NYC Public Schools
- By June, 2025, the Percent of parents responding favorably to the NYC survey question, "Teachers work closely with me to meet my child's needs." will increase by 4% from 88% to 92% as measured by NYC School Survey.
